SMP-enabled NT/2K/XP gamers take note
This is a discussion about SMP-enabled NT/2K/XP gamers take note in the Windows Games category; I've made my little software widget, , available to the outside world. setaffin will 'wrap' any process you specify with a CPU affinity mask such that it will only use CPU 0. This fixes crash problems with a mess of D3D-enabled games, most specifically, Black&White and Deus Ex.

This fixes crash problems with a mess of D3D-enabled games, most specifically, Black&White and Deus Ex. If you have a multi-CPU NT-based machine (NT/2000/XP) and have had trouble with 3D games, give this a try.
Please mail me with any good or bad reports you have with this software.... Thanx.

Thanks, will give it a go.
I found a freeware command line proggie some time ago that assigned processes to specific processors. I made an installation script that assigned it to the right-click menu so you can assign to different ones. I think it's still on www.freedrive.com login:ntcompatible pass:ntcompatible or login:ntcompatible1 pass:ntcompatible1

Nope. This proggy isn't GUI. Just command line like this one.
