Soldier Of Fortune Graphic Problems

I installed SOF recently and when i run it there is a triangle box coming from the left of the screen with like 2 colors across the screen i can see through it and play the game its just annoying as hell, i tried up the game to the gold version 26 MB patch still get this error tho system- pII-400 3dfx voodoo3 320 M ...

I have the following system and exactly the same problem.
I think it has to do with 3dfx chipset.

PIII-1GHZ
512 MB
Windows XP
Voodoo 5-5500 AGP

I don't know if this is the prob but I heard that the included Voodoo drivers in XP suck bigtime.

Have you tried other alternatives (like wickedGl ? )

Turn off the detailed textures and the elongated triangle will dissapear. Still looks good to
