Soldier Of Fortune Won't Play
This is a discussion about Soldier Of Fortune Won't Play in the Windows Games category; hey. . i just installed win xp. my video card is nvidia's tnt 64, and i installed the latest 16. 30 driver. i installed Soldier Of Fortune and i tried to play the game. . . The Problem is that i get a black screen for a few seconds and than i'm thrown back to the desktop !!!!!! Please Help.

The 23.11 Nvidia drivers are the latest from www.nvidia.com
IIRC, the 16.xx series isn't officialy compatible XP.

I had a simular problem and the refresh rate fix cured it for me.
I think i had the same thing..... You have to make sure you have the latest patches.. I loaded the 26 meg patch to bring it up to 1.06 and then loaded a 1.07 patch... but that's where I had the problem.. I found out there is a 1.07F Beta patch.... that fixed all my problems... I can download it here Sof107Fbetapatch it's only 2 meg... so you might want to check that out...
I am using Xp final and the 23.11 drivers. Works great after that patch.

well, if this guy have a TNT1, the detonators aren't compatible with this chipset. However if it's a TNT2 64, I will shut the **** up and everybody will be happy
