Hello,

I'm new here and so glad to find you all.

Recently I returned to doing transcription and have been faced with a new method of transcribing... no more dictation on cassette tapes like it used to be... they now record their dictation on CDs.

I purchased Sony's sony digital voice editor Version 2.27. Is it possible to play dictation recorded onto CDs with the footpedal/earphones that came with this software and transcribe it into a Microsoft WORD file?

Also, is it possible to bring Microsoft WORD into this scenerio with the Sony Digital Voice Editor software, so that I can save the transcribed files for the attorneys who gave them to me to transcribe into hardcopy in Microsoft WORD? I'm totally lost here.

In the past all my dictation to be transcribed came on cassette tapes and now they are on CDs... I'm lost.

Do you think I purchased the wrong type of software? Any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks so much, Gracie

P.S. Searched online for a manual for this software and only came up with instructions on how to plug the footpedal into the USB port... duh, as if that's so hard to figure out. Oh well... in advance I thank you for any responses that come my way.

It looks like you purchased the best software. Just keep plugging away and seek customer support at Sony.
