S.O.S. My computer hates me....
I'm really in desperate needs. . . . EVERY time I try to play a game, and watch the odd movie, my computer used to automatically reboot. I went to my computer, and unchecked the tab where it sais automatically reboot for whenever an error would occur.
I'm really in desperate needs....
EVERY time I try to play a game, and watch the odd movie, my computer used to automatically reboot. I went to my computer, and unchecked the tab where it sais "automatically reboot" for whenever an error would occur. But now, I'm getting a "blue screen of death" (as my teacher calls it) I just replaced my hard drive a month or so ago. I noticed that the problem was happening on my new hard drive, so I took it back and exchanged it. But it's happening here as well. I got an error saying..
IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS
0x000000A (0xB7F6108F, 000000FF, 0x00000000, 0x804ECABB)
And something about a memory dump...
I went into my BIOS and disabled my cache and that error stopped comming up. NOW, It's this new one...
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
0x00000050
Along with this error it said something about a file called
win32k.sys
I thought I'd try to delete it, and it said it was write protected. I booted into safe mode and tried again, but still same thing. So I renamed it (not sure why, can't remember) and then I tried to get back into Windows. Only I got a blue screen that said "system failure" or something like that... Basically, it wouldn't let me in Windows. I was forced into formating AGAIN (formated the computer twice already, thinking it was a virus of a sort...)
I'm really in a tight bind... I baught this computer for gaming, and it seems I can do anything BUT... My internet works ok, and so does any small program. But when I try to run a game (even a cheap small ROM) or watch a .mkv movie, it will give me this blue screen... Any/all help is greatly appreciated

I forgot... I'm not sure if it matters or not, but the rebooting happens after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay, or movie watching...
Certainly not an expert here but the hundreds of times I have formatted my hard drive and gotten these blue screens it has come down to a single piece of hardware that was faulty. The fact that it is rebooting during gameplay or watching videos leads me to think it could be one of two things..power supply or video card. It could be memory or CPU too but the IRQ messages leads me to believe it is a "peripheral" (most likely video card). What card are you using? Was it new when you bought it? What order do you install Windows again? Typically you should do the install, once stable, load chipset drivers, load cpu drivers (pretty much just applies to AMD I think-don't know a thing about Intel processors, never used one), load device drivers then load software. Also, do you have the ability to switch out video card or PSU just for the sake of troubleshooting? I know that is a pain but it will really save some hair-pullng down the road. It also could just be that the PSU even if in great condition could be too weak for your setup. Anyway, give some of the details asked for in my questions above and more people may be able to help out.
My video card was baught brand new.. It's an NVIDIA GForce4 MX 4000. I'm not sure if anything is wrong with it. It DID work before, and for a long time as well. I moved my computer around a bit, and for a while I had the monitor plugged into the onboard video of the motherboard. But I noticed that and switched it back into the video card slot. But it still gave me the error.
Now that I think about it, my friend came over, and he was looking at a bunch of [censored] while I was at work, and when I went on the next day (he had left by then -.-* ) the background was changed to a red screen with something like "You have child [censored] on your computer, and now your wife will divorce you, and you will lose your job and be arested" or some bull like that, and a bunch of links on my desktop. I formatted, and the links and crap was STILL there. I had to run a full system format, took something like 14 hours, was insane. But anyway, after that, my computer has always given me that blue screen saying IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS. I just fixed that yesterday. Now it's the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error... The error is caused by a file called win32k.sys I just need to know what to do with it ^_^' I tried deleting it, but that just screwed things up big time.. So I'm not making that mistake again.. hehheh
I seriously doubt that your computer hates you, but if it were to develop emotions, I could see why.
There are probably two things that you will need to do. If your machine is coming up in windows now, you will need to remove all of your video drivers (under Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel) - the set for your MX 4000 and the onboard set. After doing this, reboot and let it come up in windows. Windows should install the standard VGA drivers and the screen will default to 800x600 or 640x480. It will probably want to install your drivers but cancel that and Restart your computer.
When it begins to restart you should see a message about getting into your BIOS. It will tell you what key to hit. Hit that key, go into bios, and change to default for your video from onboard to AGP or PCI depending on the type of MX 4000 card you have. When you exit the BIOS be sure to answer 'Y' to save your changes. Let it come back into windows. It will want to install your video drivers. Get the CD your card came with and put it into your CD rom drive and let it install your drivers.
After you have done that - if you don't have any anti-virus software on your machine - download and install Avast, or Anti-vir or AVG. They are all free - but install only one of them. (You can get them from www.majorgeeks.com) make sure the definitions are updated and then scan your machine. If you already have virus software on your machine, then scan your machine for viruses. Be sure that you have the latest definitions.
After you have scanned for viruses, download and install WindowsDefender, Ad-aware, and Spybot Search and destroy (all found at majorgeeks also). Install them all, update their definitions and then scan your machine for spyware.
Finally, bann your so-called friend from your computer for life.

Thank you so much!!!!
And believe me.. He knows not to touch my computer.. Last time he was over was a few weeks ago. He tried and I beat him over the head with an oak dowel.... Was pretty funny... Anyway, I'll try that now.. Thank you so much!
P.S. My computer is pure evil. I have proof (long story) Therefore it IS possible for it to hate me....
