sound card keeps getting re-detected upon fresh boot

This is a discussion about sound card keeps getting re-detected upon fresh boot in the Windows Hardware category; This has been happening for some time now and happened when I was still using 98SE. Every morning I come to work and boot up this pc, during startup, windows will say that it detected the soundcard (ESS Solo1 PCI) and if I would like to install the drivers for it.

What could be the cause? All my other hardware runs fine except for the sound card.

Have you checked the device manager to see whether there are any conflicts with another card? Have you tried swapping slots the card is in? Are you using the latest drivers?

Just some suggestions.
