I want my transporter!!! why bother building a massive tower over the poles etc when you can just hit a badge ans say one to beam up!

I dream of all the money i would save from airline tickets.
Just a thought would we be able to collect air miles on beaming???

These things are interesting, but they'll probably play havoc with air traffic control. And can you imagine the devestation that would be caused should a plane or bomb hit it?

It would need to be a long long way from civilization.

looks great except that I wouldn't want to get on a platform "floating" (imagine the weight of 100,000 km carbonewhatever ribbon...) in the pacific ocean... they say there are no storms or whatever... But who knows in 20 years maybe the earth would be so polluted that even in the pacific ocean storms would exist hope not... I would prefer having the "base" in texas, siberia, sahara or wherever... but not on water.
