You need two addresses. One that you use for personal emails and one the you put in to all the forms you need on the web...like registering for this site.
My personal email account gets maybe one a month, if that much. My other one gets probalby 100 a day.

My main ISP based address - zero per day (any day)
My yahoo address - approx 60 per day but all are filtered into the "Bulk Mail" folder so I don't see them.
My hotmail address - maybe 1 or 2 per day.
Via windows messenger service, about 2 per month.
Yahoo spam filtering is excellent and whilst you can't see it in action, Hotmail must have very similar abilities.
Another favourite of mine was when posting to UseNet, I would put a whole bunch of "abuse@wxyz.com" into my .sig so that filter bots would hopefully catch them. Obviously they won't catch the professionals who filter such out, but even if it could get one address shut down, it would have been worth it.

I **hate** spam. but with a little common sense and good software you can banish your spam.
use disposable email to sign up for crap, like webboards, product info, or anything else that you only need the first few emails from:
http://spamgourmet.com
http://spamhole.com
http://spammotel.com
If you're saavy you can install your own copy of SpamGourmet
use outlook? get this AWESOME plugin http://disruptor.de
use another email client? get this spam filtering proxy http://spampal.com
use an OS other than windows? install SpamAssassin http://SpamAssassin.org
option four: hunt down the spammer and hurt him. jk
create an email user that's NOT a dictionary word

about 100-200 a day on any acocunt
Thing is i have many acounts - but it does not help when your email provider is likely selling your email address.
Do not get Beanfield.com internet or email - their services are half ass!
heck , they dont even have a decent web site with any info!

Well the spammers who are trading any list with my Yahoo! address on it have really extracted their digit.
The spam is really flying in now and given that the newest method is to make the entire message a pic to get around content filtering, some of them are getting through.
Time to warm up the guns and sharpen the axes, it's time to kill me a spam monkey. Or perhaps something involving a nail-gun, 4x2 timber beam & a block and tackle would be more satisfying. Meat-hooks are so passe since the re-release of TexasCSM.

then we put a watchguard firewall in with spamscreen
then i denied all of yahoo.com which was almost 1000.
and spamscreen fixed most of the rest
pure crazyness

Sorry to say guys, but I have never received any spam on my main ISP email account. It's probably because I have quite an un-common surname (here in the UK anyway).
I'm always careful who I register my address with anyway and so far have been lucky up to now.
Incidently, my girlfriend does get quite a lot of spam but BT Yahoo! have greatly improved their spam protection and it manages to identify [and quarantine] every single one. Pretty impressive.
