Standby & McAfee Firewall Questions
This is a discussion about Standby & McAfee Firewall Questions in the Windows Networking category; I just recently set up a home network. I like to work on the computer that is not set up as the server computer(the one in my signature). I was wondering if it is possible to access the server when it is on standby.
I just recently set up a home network. I like to work on the computer that is not set up as the server computer(the one in my signature). I was wondering if it is possible to access the server when it is on standby. I have tried it and it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to do this?
Also, I have McAfee Firewall (the one included with VirusScan 6.0) and I am having problems getting information from the server computer when it is enabled[Firewall that is]. I have set it in the options so that it can use NetBIOS (which enables me to be able to access other shares on different computers and for them to share off of mine). I now don't use it just so I can have the network set up. I would like to use it. Can anyone help me with these probs.?
Thanks a lot. 8)
