STILL problems with USB dying randomly.

I've installed the latest 4.33s for the board, flashed my bios and installed the latest version, installed usb filter and STILL usb just randomly DIES during a boot.
It will work fine, then boom.. it will stop.
Interesting to note- whenever this happens, I won't be able to shut down the computer. Instead of shutting down- it will just lock instead of turning off the computer.
Is this an ACPI problem instead of USB?

You might want to take a look at the KT7 FAQ on www.viahardware.com under the miscellaneous section, if you havent already. There is a bit on there about USB devices not working.
You may also want to try using an external powered USB hub - some USB devices try to draw more power than the mobo can supply, and the mobo usually goes into "shell shock"...
