Strange problem in LAN
This is a discussion about Strange problem in LAN in the Windows Networking category; Ours is a office LAN working with 28 computers connected to a server running NT Server. When any 0ne or two computers switched off in the LAN (may be xp or 98 or 2000), all other systems in LAN are becoming slow and could not run properly.
Ours is a office LAN working with 28 computers connected to a server running NT Server. When any 0ne or two computers switched off in the LAN (may be xp or 98 or 2000), all other systems in LAN are becoming slow and could not run properly. If switch on those systems again performance is back to normal. It's not particular with one or two. Any system in the LAN. Please help me out to solve the problem.

Are you sharing folders or printers between these PCs?
If so, then the connecting computerr may be trying to connect to the turned off PC and may slow things up a little. Try disconnecting folders before shutting down.
