Since no one made a suggestion I went with the Pioneer 4x.

An all-in-one solution may be good, such as the Sony DRU-500A, which can write to DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW... In the US, they can be ordered or purchased for about $300.

i don't trust HP for some reason!
 
go with pioneer - since they practically invented the thing!!!
 
and they now have the 4x version out - 4.7g in 15 mins!
