Superbike 2001 - Can It Be Done?
Another fricking year has come and gone and it still appears that EA has no intention of supporting Windows 2000 gamers. Its only a fluke rather by intention that any of their games will run in 2000 and its us gamers that have to figure it out.

Which brings us to Superbike 2001. It looks to be a fantastic and ultra-realistic game, but I may never know because it won't run.
Run the .exe and the game toggles a bunch of video modes, runs the familiar "EA Its In The Game" little applet, and BAM its back to the desktop.
I've tried using apcompat and have the latest game compat upgrades from MS but no dice. When using apcompat, I get an error message about "MSVCRT.DLL not valid WIN32" nonsense and there is no ignore option, just to shutdown the application.
The game installs fine, just won't run.
Anybody who can get this game to run in Win2000 will have my complete admiration for ingenuity.

Well, all I did was install the game then put the patch on and reinstall the game again. I suppose if you already had the game on, you could just delete the directory, put the patch on, then install the game again. that's about all I can think of that I did..

Whistler is or will be better than Windows 2000, if you don't think so, get a reality check and hope it doesn't bounce.

Still can't get the game to run no matter how many re-installs and application of the compat patches from Microsoft.
I also took one of my computers offline, formatted it, did a fresh install of win2k pro, then installed the game, ran the compat patches, uninstalled, reinstalled, ran the patches again, and always a dump to the desktop.
You would think with a virgin install of the OS it might have a chance.
There has to be a way.........
