This is a discussion about Supposedly there is a way to find the Product Key on a Windows 2000 disc but to in the Windows Software category; Supposedly there is a way to find the Product Key on a Windows 2000 disc but to no avail. I know how to bypass the registration key window but i want to know how to find the key in the CD files to input the key during setup.

There is NO way you can "extract" product key from Windows CD.
Buying the GENUINE Windows will help in this "problem".

More accurately, there is no key on the cd itself to extract. All the cd's are identical. The key which is provided seperately is what differentiates the copy.
