svchost.exe problem

Occasionally when I boot up I get an svchost. exe error which terminates it. I check the event viewer and the error also kills Telephony, Network Connections, COM+ and various other services. I think I have linked the error to running Direct3D applications but I am not sure what to do about it.

I think I have linked the error to running Direct3D applications but I am not sure what to do about it. I tried reinstalling DirectX but to no avail. Anyone have ideas?
