Dear all,
I have the aforementioned CD writer and i have two probelms:
1 - every time i burn a cd it brings my computer to a halt (i remember when i first got it that this was not the case) and i cant even move the mouse without the cursor chugging accross the screen.
2 - I ran nero speed tool on it and the average speed of the drive was 4.8x (never went over 8x!). this is clearly worng as the cd drive has a write/rewirte/read speed of 40/12/48. Furthermore, burning a movie file (700mb) onto a CD takes between 20-25mins (as opposed to the under 5mins it should take). my cd writer never used to be this slow, but as i never really noticed until it slowly got to the stage it is now.
i have windows xp home, sp2, amd athlon xp 2000+ with 1.5 gb RAM.
any ideas?
thanks
