That cute shut down screen
I am running Whistler build 2296 Professional. Where is that Cute graphical Shut Down Menu that has been shown in the reviews? Did they rip it out of build 2296? Am I missing a setting? Does it only appear in Personal edition, or do I have to be in workgroup mode? I know the start screen only shows up in workgroup ...

Does it only appear in Personal edition, or do I have to be in workgroup mode? I know the start screen only shows up in workgroup but what about the shut down? If any one can point me in the right direction that would be wonderful.
Thanks guys!

im now forced to use classic mode for everything (which brought back the ctlr alt del options box, instead of straight to task list) since when i added a few new users, the Administrator account promptly disapeared. since one of the other accts i had made had admin axs, i used that to disable the graphical login, and it logs in fine if i type in the Administrator and password, just doesnt show on the GUI. weird. I hope in teh final you get options of using some elements from the new i/f and some from the old. would be nice to keep teh gui login and shutdown, but also have teh ctrl alt del options box
Hey THC THANKS! Unfortunately I had to take the machine out of the domain and set it up as workgroup to get the gui. I finally got to witness the pretty shut down screen. It was gone once I put it back in the domain. Bummer.
JL, the ctrl-alt-del is supposed to protect you from false logon prompts that are used to steal passwords, if I understood Microsoft correctly. I guess that ctl-alt-del screen is next to impossible to fake therefore having it enabled makes sure you get the authentic logon prompt.
Any MCSE's care to help us on that last point?
