The Curse of Monkey Island Problem..please help!

This is a discussion about The Curse of Monkey Island Problem..please help! in the Windows Games category; I can install the game fine and have downloaded the most recent DirectX. When I press Play Monkey Island it says DirectX Setup I install it it says it has done it then I press play adn it doesnt work.

I can install the game fine and have downloaded the most recent DirectX. When I press Play Monkey Island it says DirectX Setup I install it it says it has done it then I press play adn it doesnt work. I ahve uninstalled and reinstalled and after directx installation i restart computer, but still isnt working. When i go to the install screen it says direct3D not installed but I don't know where to get it from. can anyone help?

Let the guys and gals here know what exact video card make and model that you have and the version of Windows that you are using.
 
Also, do you have the latest drivers for the video card installed?
 
Finally, did the message say that Direct 3D was not installed, or not available?

I'm in the same boat. When I click play it keeps bringing up the install directx window even though I've installed it already. Everything else in that window says certified but direct3D says not installed.
 
I use XP. How do I check what video card I have? Sorry but i'm pretty bad t computers (but I'm learning!!).
