Thief Gold demo in Win2k
I'm having a problem launching the actual game. With QFixxApp, I manage to install the game, play intros, configure and select items for the mission but when I hit 'Play', the screen just goes black for several minutes.
I'm having a problem launching the actual game. With QFixxApp, I manage to install the game, play intros, configure and select items for the mission but when I hit 'Play', the screen just goes black for several minutes. Have to use taskmanager to get back to desktop. Is there something specific in QFixxApps 'fixes' that need to be checked/unchecked in order to run it or is the demo just unplayable?

This seems to be a generic Win2k / WP Problem the Dark Engine has.
I had the same with my SystemShock 2, which I fixed adding the line
safe_texture_manager
to
cam.cfg
in my main SS2-Directory.
Have the same prob with Thief Gold Final Retail now, though, and haven't found out how to fix it yet.
I'll let you know if I find anything.
