Is this a standard Win2K folder
C:\WINNT\twain_32

If so what is meant to be in it? Some drivers & stuff?
I take it is for scanning (Win2K scanner support drivers or something?)

You see when i try to scan (HP Scanjet 4100C) i get an error saying - "Twain driver not loaded or in use by other hardware, or corrupt and needs reinstalling" (well something along those lines)

In my C:\WINNT\twain_32 i have hpprsclt.ds , hpsjsrc.ds and three 'empty' directories - 'fjscan' , 'logiscan' & 'miitwain'
None of these files or directories seem to be created by Windows, nor are there any .sys , .ini , .vxd , .drv

So what do you guys have in your directories? any drivers. Do i have anything missing? Anyone else have a HP scanner? What is Twain???

I would appreciate any help,
Cheers.

As far as as remember, Twain is a standard API - created by one hardware company long time ago, I do not remember which one (Epson? HP? Agfa? - for imaging devices such as scanners, webcams and the like.
It allows image acquisition by applications like Photoshop, PaintShop pro and a bunch of others.
The Twain drivers are native in W2K.
This probly will not help much as it should work natively if your hardware and drivers are installed properly.

I thought TWAIN was an OpenSource type thingy - it stands for Technology Without An Interesting Name (honestly ), which is the kind of name those wacky OpenSource people like to use

OK, thanx for the feedback guys,

So FrogM. you said the drivers are native in Win2K,

Does that mean that there should be drivers in the folder i specified before? Can you plz check what is in your folder
Because all i have is two '.ds' files and three empty folders, as you will see in my previous post
