Unmapable and strange behaivor keys in some games.

I am having problems with certain games and their controls. I have played them before normally because when I like a game it will be played several times by me. The first sign was when I decided to replay after some times Thief and Thief 2 under WinXp.

I am having problems with certain games and their controls.I have played them before normally because when I like a game it will be played several times by me.The first sign was when I decided to replay after some times Thief and Thief 2 under WinXp.Installation and game runs perfect but when I open the option panel in control menu there a shift before every key for exsample: shift+up, shift+down, shift+] etc.All keys were remapable exept the shift key before them.Next games were the Half Life, Half Life-Blue Shift,Half Life-Opossing Force,Serious Sam the Firs and the Second encounter. In those games the following keys are unable to change:all arrow keys and the six keyes above exept delete.Up arrow instead of run straight forward makes a diagonal forward left walk.
I had try with a different frind's keyboard and then buying a new other model but this does'nt change anything.
Any idea or any similar experince will be apriciated.

Hi,

I had a similar (well, sort of) problem with Thief3, I could not change any key settings, the moment I clicked on any key it would quit the game, but I could play the game with default keys and it works fine.

What language keyboard do you have? Cause I did not have this problem in S.A. but I have it here in Germany
