unsafe removal of device

This is a discussion about unsafe removal of device in the Windows Hardware category; Is there any way to disable this warning. I have a friend with a laptop and win2k and a mem stick with a pcmcia adapter. Every time he pulls out the stick or the card he gets Unsafe removal of device.

Is that because he didn't stop the device prior to removal? Generally, it's a good idea to stop the device first, but most of the time you can get away with it. Check the PCMCIA icon properties. I *think* there is an option to stop displaying warnings.

OP
I know that you are suposed to stop the device but that is more of a pain in the a.ss than just click ok when it warns you. I have not been able to figure out where to turn this warning off.

I dunno how to turn it off, either, but if you find out, please post it.

I don't believe it is possible to disable hardware error messages in Win2k - Sorry :-(
