Hi all,
i have a realy wired problem:
I installed the SP1 and Norton AV on a PC with WinXP
Prior to the SP1 installation the internet connection was fine, but I hade some other "minor" troubles. After the installation, the PC worked realy well except the internet connection doesn't work.
The PC is connected to the internet via a 3COM Eth NW card and cable modem (broadband). IP settings are manually set.
If I start a cmd prompt I am able to ping my def. GW, NS (prim, sec) and nslookup is also working.
BUT all Windows programs (IE, Outlook Express, NAV Live Update, ...) do not get a connection to the Internet. IE says that it was not able to connect to the Server or to the DNS.
Internet Settings seems to be OK
Proxy is not needed
Firewall SW is not installed
I reinstalled SP1 ... no effect
I removed the NW card (deinstalled it) and installed it again ... no effect
Anyone able to help ???
