i have a AMD 1.33 ghz system
Epox 8kta3 Mobo(kti133a chipset)
256mb ram
16x10x40 yamaha e-ide burner
Voodoo 3 16mg pci video
(Made it myself )
Running Win 2k pro
(via drivers updated to 4.32)
Sounds like a decent system, but for some wierd reason it can accept data at over 1.5mb/s from network or from cdrom.
and when its accepting data it processor usage goes from 100% to 50% and back.
even the dam screen saver is chopy any idias why?

Not sure about your network problem, but if you want the best transfer rates from your CD to your HDD, then they should be on different chanels. It looks like they are both on the primary IDE from your picture.
When you select 'DMA if available', and restart, does it return to PIO mode? If so, what kind of HDD do you have?

i have them my cd one secondary my hd on primary and when i restart its still the same i have western digital 30gig 7200rpm ata100 captible
