There was another thread about this somewhere, but it doesn't really concern my question. . Sorry in advance. x. x Anyway, tonight I decided I'd plug in my Logitech QuickCam (5. 6. 1. ), but when I went to plug it in I got the message that the USB device was not recognized.

Anyway, tonight I decided I'd plug in my Logitech QuickCam (5.6.1.), but when I went to plug it in I got the message that the USB device was not recognized. I figured, fine- my software for it must have got wiped a few months ago when I took my computer to the shop to get a RAM upgrade. So I find the CD, install everything, blahblahblah. No luck. The installation wizard says that I'll be prompted to plug in my cam once I restart. Nothing happens relating to the cam once I restart.

I was looking at the CD and noticed that it says it's for 98, ME, or 2000. I've got XP. But I've ran this cam on this computer for years now while having XP. (I didn't originally buy this cam for this computer. Had an old one with 98, then switched over.)

Any ideas?
Also, if someone knows what's going on- can I get a step-by-step guide, because I'm not totally with it on things like this.

Go into device manager, click on the unrecognized device and then point to your CD for drivers. Don't trust the installer on the CD.
