Hi everybody ,
I recently bought new system (self-assembled) having Intel Pentium IV 3.0 GHZ with Intel original motherboard having Intel 915G chipset and 512 MB of DDR memory. After I have successfully assembled the system I installed Winodws XP Professinal SP2. It installed successfully, but a message "One of the USB devices attached to the system has malfunctioned" and sometimes "USB device not recognized" continuously pops although I have not connected any device to any of the USB ports. My motherboard has 8 USB ports and all are empty, means nothing is connected to any of them. But, still whenever I start the computer this message continuously appears and disappears itslef. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a broken USB port that is detecting 'ghost' devices.
I would check ther motherboard again make sure all cables are attached correctly and so on.
