usb/ethernet on usb cable 351000

My problem is this I have installed on my computer the 'usb cable 351000' which gives you an option of either, usb or ethernet, I wish to use ethernet. The problem with that is when I plug in my RJ-45 to my NIC and hub it just turns on the little enet led light, and it says im still connected via usb.

The problem with that is when I plug in my RJ-45 to my NIC and hub it just turns on the little enet led light, and it says im still connected via usb. So what I did was unistall the usb, power washed it, and restarted the computer, still nothing so then I plugged back in my usb and its online only through the usb any help get the ethernet to work? I have one other hub/router called 'Arris touchstone telephony modem' which if need be it I can use. The reason for me needing to switch to ethernet is because I'd like to use my wireless router.

Well I've concluded thats its due to the fact for some reason its not running on the IEEE 1394 (not sure on numbers/letters), but normally on a windows conncection when you connect through a hub you have two connections one the 1394 and the other the hub is this correct? So if that is how would I go about fixing this.

Allright I guess I probably shouldn't have made this post considering I found out the cause of the problem myself :]. It was a simple matter of loading the Resource CD and clicking some buttons, then restarting, now everything works except I'm still connected through one connection, which is the ethernet, so other then it's not 1394 im happy.
