USB Recognition
This is a discussion about USB Recognition in the Windows Hardware category; I just moved and when I set up my win2k machine in my new apartment I cannot get any usb devices other than my mouse to work. The mouse is fine but when I plug anything else in (printer, scanner) the unplug or eject hardware icon comes up showing usb device to be not working properly.
I just moved and when I set up my win2k machine in my new apartment I cannot get any usb devices other than my mouse to work. The mouse is fine but when I plug anything else in (printer, scanner) the "unplug or eject hardware" icon comes up showing "usb device" to be not working properly. All the drivers are installed properly and everything worked fine before I moved. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks a lot.

Some people with this problem have had some success by shutting down their PC and completely disconnecting it from the mains power for a minute or two (thus allowing any charge left in the motherboard to be exausted).
OP
I actually already saw that suggestion on the other thread and tried it to no avail. Thanks.
