User Account Login at StarUp
This is a discussion about User Account Login at StarUp in the Customization Tweaking category; Hello all, I am at a loss finding the setting that will force my WinXP Pro machine to automatically log onto my account at Boot up. I am the only account on the machine, and every time I restart, Windows stops at the logon screen asking for my user name and password (this account has no password).
Hello all,
I am at a loss finding the setting that will force my WinXP Pro machine to automatically log onto my account at Boot up. I am the only account on the machine, and every time I restart, Windows stops at the logon screen asking for my user name and password (this account has no password). So all I have to do is click on the OK button, and I log in, but I would like to skip this silly screen and the OK button. Is there anyway to have it start with a default account already logged in?
Thanks

Click on Start, Run and type "control userpasswords2" and press <enter>.
Get rid of the check mark "User must enter a username..." and after you click OK, enter your username and password.
Autologon is now set.

you can also download the tweakUI powertoy for XP to set this as well.
