Using Ghost v9 to backup to CD-R or CD-RW

This is a discussion about Using Ghost v9 to backup to CD-R or CD-RW in the Windows Software category; I just installed Norton Ghost. When I select the option to backup to CD-RW, I consistently get a message that the disk is either not formatted or is write protected. I have formatted both CD-R and CD-RW disks using Roxio's Direct CD (data format).

Sorry that I cannot help you, Robb,
but I can assure you that I have the EXACT same problem here (message "make sure that media is ready, writable and formated" ).
Configuration is : Win XP SP2 - Norton Ghost v9 - Trying do backup C: onto a DVD-R or DVD-RW with Pioneer DVR105 DVD drive
