Via 4in1 1.26 Ultra ATA controller problem?

This is a discussion about Via 4in1 1.26 Ultra ATA controller problem? in the Windows Software category; When i installed the new Via 4in1 drivers in win2kpro, the drivers install some Via Ultra ATA controller drivers that replace the win2k ones for my MOBO. Everything works fine and looks good under device manager.

When i installed the new Via 4in1 drivers in win2kpro, the drivers install some Via Ultra ATA controller drivers that replace the win2k ones for my MOBO. Everything works fine and looks good under device manager...but you see, i got my dvd-rom and yamaha burner on one channel and when i try to burn, i get an error message saying the media could not be created or something and burning fails...if i uninstall the drivers for the IDE channels...i can burn again without any problems...anyone more had this problem?

Same problem here. One of my HDs wouldn't run in UDMA mode, so I installed the new, apparently beta, drivers. When I went to use Nero, same thing, so now I'm back to the old drivers with one HD in PIO mode. Oh, well. Anyway, here's a link to the topic on the hardware board:
 
Via BM driver 580_3011 affects CD writer software.
