Hey if you have a VIA KT333 board post some information here about stability, performance, compatibility with GF4 boards if you have one, Windows XP performance, etc. I am interested in hearing about these boards mostly but if you have a different one let me know.

I am leaning towards the MSI board.

I heard the nForce had some issues with it's memory controller (certain memory banks couldn't be filled or something) but nVidia may have fixed that by now.
What I'd like to see is a dual Athlon chipset that features the nForces dual DDR channel system (assuming it works properly ). I'm willing to bet that that'll provide the Athlon MP the boost it needs to completely blow the new Xeons out of the water (they're pretty much neck and neck atm if Anandtech's benchmarks are anything to go by).

Take a look at www.amdmb.com's forum . All possible problems with AMD compatible mainboards are discussed there. I think that in your case the undocumented jumper for overvoltage might be set.

ich habe es gerade mal ausprobiert...wenn ich den Jumper umstecke ..bekomme ich sofort eine Error-Meldung vom Board..
und die Voltzahl geht direkt über 1.75 auf 2.11 und vpn 12.75 auf 13.2...nun hab ich wieder alles umgesteckt.trotzdem wird mir immer noch eine CPU-Volt von 13.2 im Asusprobe angezeigt..

i have just probe it..but when i exchange the jumper..my Motherboard give a Error-message..and the Voltage gone from 1.75V to 2.11 also the 12.75V to 13.2.. now i exchange return it..but the Asusprobe show me 13.2V Cpu Voltage..

On the nForce, there is a superstability mode that kicks in automatically if all the banks are filled. However, Abit has chosen not to implement this in at least the NV7-133R. The trade off is that you cannot use a double-sided DIMM in the 3rd DIMM slot.
People claim the nForce is slow, but that is false. You will loose performance if you do not have a DIMM in both memory channels.

I don't think MSI implement it (or have a different problem entirely...) either because IIRC thats who's board the guy I was referring to was using.
Yeah, MSI isn't as of yet. There is supposed to be a BIOS update for their 415 and 420 boards that give you the option to disable or enable super stability.

Hast Du die Möglichkeit, das Netzteil mit einem anderen Board zu testen? Möglicherweise hat Dein jetziges Mainboard nur einen Fehler beim messen der Spannung. Bei mir wechselt das auch ständig. Mal nur 11,5V, dann wieder 12,7V.
Do you have the possibility to check the PSU with another mainboard? Maybe your current mainboard does incorrectly read the voltage. I keep getting different vlues, too. Sometimes 11.5V, sometimes 12.7V.

I will be checking the voltages out with a DMM later on this week. Ill let you know what I find
