Ok I knwo that there are not many mpeg2 cards that work in win2k so what I am thinking of doing is installing win98 minimal install on my win2k system and getting a good mpeg2 card that works well in win98.

if you're looking for a video capture card, check out the ATI All in Wonder series cards such as the All in Wonder, All in Wonder 128, and the All in Wonder Radeon. If you explain what you want it to do, i could probably help more.

Who told you that? I think ATI is a perfectly fine brand. I've never had any trouble with the three boards I've used from them.
