What games is it? Does it use Direct3d, Glide, or OpenGL?
I got my 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 drivers from this site (ntcompatible.com) and all of my games DO WORK with the new drivers. Diablo II runs under 3dfx Glide mode instead of DirectDraw2D. Unreal Tournament uses the card along with everything associated with Half-Life, Quake and anything else. It's working just great for me.
Hykster
Hykster
UT still rox under 3dfx cards.

That all of My Games Doesn't Work.
Hello, Sna-e!
Here's the low down on the Voodoo3 XP situation.
What happened is 3DFX is out of buisness, so there was no one to write new drivers for XP. Nvidia has aquired all of 3DFX's assets, but they are not going to release new drivers.
So Microsoft wrote their own for XP. And because they're Microsoft, they didn't include any support for OpenGl or Glide, (as they are competitors to DirectX).
So what is a Voodoo3/4/5 user to do?
Well, there are some L337 H4X0rs out there that have made some drivers. It has taken a long time, but there is finally a version that works the best.
A bunch of guys have been steadily releasing better and better versions. A guy named Cairey figured out the last part that was making things crash, and now everything is peachy!
You can download his drivers at:
Voodoo3 WinXP drivers
His web page and F.A.Q. is at http://go.to/cairey
Also, x3Dfx is an excellent resource.
Good luck! I'll be around to help if it doesn't work

the guy who originally hex edited the glide files to make them work is called "hujer hoe". So now everybody calls the drivers the "hoe drivers". lol
I don't know what I did right or wrong..
but in XP Pro:
Red Faction
Quake3
RTCW
AvP2
Tribes2
all work with whatever the drivers listed on the frontpage a week ago were on my Voodoo3
I only get about 70 fps, which isn't great..but it's playable.

Doesn't work, huh?
I hate it when things don't work!
Here's a step by step that removes pretty much any problems:
Right click on the "my computer" icon on your desktop
Click on the "hardware" tab
Click on "device manager"
Double click on "display adapters"
Right click on "voodoo3" (or whatever name it is)
Click on "uninstall"
Once that's done, go to "control panel"
Double click on "add/remove programs"
Uninstall "3dfx tools"
Restart your comp
Hold down F8
Select "safe mode"
Once in safe mode, run Cairey's setup
Once that is done, restart your comp
Let me know if you still have problems!

U sure that I need to do it in Safe Mode?
No, you don't have too. It's just a way to minimize the possibility of other problems screwing something up.
