Weird new hardware after formatting and installing WinXPSP1
I noticed a few days after installing XP with SP1, I know have an extra drive letter, it refers to a CDROM device named, Image Simulation SCSI CdRom Device. I don't have such a device, I only have a Pioneer 16x DVD and a Yahama 16x burner.

I don't have such a device, I only have a Pioneer 16x DVD and a Yahama 16x burner. This hardware is mounted on a Soyo P4S mobo. IF I remove the device, it reappears on the next boot up. Please help if you can tell me how to rid my system of this device!

dont know what it is but u can "disable" it from the system devices and it wont reapear
I used Customizer XP to remove it from my computer. I guess that is good enough for now, but it sux to have devices present that you don't even have, I hate little things like that
yes i have it installed
Nero - and some other apps put in a "image" drive. i had an app that added like a virtual HD - which was not really there.
however - nero has never done this - if u have no burner connected - it will ask u to use a "image drive" or something - but to my knowledge it does not add anything to your "my computer" area.
