Welcome screen

This is a discussion about Welcome screen in the Everything New Technology category; If anyone can help me I would be much appreciated. When Windows XP is loading it hangs on the welcome screen it stays there for a couple of minutes, But if you press any key it goes straight to the desktop and loads correctly, I have run Trojan remover, and Ad-aware and there are non on my system.

If anyone can help me I would be much appreciated. I'm totally clueless to what is causing this so any help would be grateful.

Haven't really seen this before, but it sounds like some program or service might be failing to load properly. Check what programs/services are being run right then and see if any of them are no longer needed or are failing to load.

Try re creating the page file. I had this same problem and this worked for me.

That solution helped me fix a startup problem that has been shi**ing me for ages.
