I noticed something is constantly creating a file called prefs. pc8 deep down in the user profile folder the file reads: # Mozilla User Preferences // This is a generated file! user_pref(browser.
I noticed something is constantly creating a file called prefs.pc8 deep down in the user profile folder
the file reads:

user_pref("browser.startup.page", 0);
user_pref("prefs.converted-to-utf8", true);
user_pref("timebomb.first_launch_time", "1014223337278000");

It creates the file 1500 times then stops! (can see it in norton bin/purge)
When I purge those files, something restarts the whole process until the number reaches 1500 again
I run W2K-sp2 with all current fixes/patches
IE6 is my only browser

Nestscape spyware he?
Removed similar folder from all user profiles on this machine.
Seems to have killed the baddy.
What is weird is that it is a two-month old clean install. Netscape was never installed.
Brought in by another intrusive app?
