What does Synchronization Manager - mobsync.exe /logon Do?

This program is set in the registry on my Windows 2000 machine to run automatically and I'm wondering what does it do? I think it's for network environments.

I think it's for network environments. I presume that if you had a roaming user that this would synchronize their account data or something?
