What exactly does -lgntforce DO?

Anyone know what running setup. exe with the -lgntforce modifier does? I'm not looking for It allows you to install System Shock 2. I realize that. I'm wondering what it allows setup to do, that it could not do without the modifier.

I'm not looking for "It allows you to install System Shock 2". I realize that. I'm wondering what it allows setup to do, that it could not do without the modifier. And could using it cause any problems with other applications or the OS itself?

You got nothing to worry about. The programmers wrote that option to give you the possibility to install it on a NT operating system even though it does not have the required DirectX verison (NT4).

If I remember correct it was even documented on Looking Glass's homepage
