What is this infinite loop crap?

I had made a reference to this in another thread, but this is really starting to make me mad. I get a checkerboard BSOD telling me that I have an infinite loop problem, etc. Why does this happen? Is it an XP problem? Other people have this problem, evidently, because I've heard it mentioned.

It will happen every time. Then it happened twice the other night. Then twice again tonight. Very annoying when I am doing something important.

Any light on this?

Thanks guys.

Oh, I've tried a couple different drivers....I have the 21.83's now, I think.

I've only ever seen this on XP, not on other OSes.
Also (and maybe others can back me up on this) I don't recall ever seeing this on beta versions of XP until the final RTM release (version 2600?). This suggests (to me anyhow) that it's a problem with XP and not nVidia...

I've just installed the latest Detonators (23.10?), and they do seem to be slightly more stable - fewer BSODs - although we're not quite there yet, we're getting close!
