It's not a web server, even though it behaves like one. Try it, telnet to your local machine port 5000, type something and hit return 2 times.
I've turned off almost all services and still get it. Anyone know what's up?

Port 5000 is used for TCP/UDP. I'm not up on the web serving in XP.....
OP
Ummm... yeah, okay, whatever that's supposed to mean. And no, it's not accepting datagram packets.
Anyway we found it, under services
---------
SSPD Discovery Service
This port is regarded open by the scheduler for peer to peer Plug and Play functionality as network devices.

Stop that and it's all good.
