What's the deal here ?? ..

What's the deal with W2K and all these people who cannot install or play so many different games?? I have NEVER had a problem with ANY game that I have tried under W2K on my PC. I have only ever witnessed NFS5 not working on my dad's setup (works on mine).

I have only ever witnessed NFS5 not working on my dad's setup (works on mine)..., but this game seems to be the most common head scratcher.

I am just puzzled by this ..

I must just be extreeeeemly lucky ! .

Now I'm off to play Project IGI .. which worked first go ! .. soz.

It's very common. The most common factor in not being able to install games in Windows 2000 is because of self-checks or of differences in registry and directories.

I think I/O error is the most common cause of the problem

this is what happened to me:
if you install the game in win98 and then install win2k, the game will work
but if you install it after install win2k it might not work.

I've formatted & reinstalled Win2K a few times, and have noted on at least two occasions that one game or another didn't run properly because of an error during the install. An error with no error message, other than the game didn't run or ran really crappy. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game again did the trick in each case.

But, the only games I run are those that happen to reportedly work well with Win2K in most cases.

Hmmm...

Good question. I dunno.

Maybe I wasn't logged-in at the time. Must be an I/O error.
