This is a discussion about which is faster? in the Windows Hardware category; hey guys i have 2 cards here. now which one is better at stock speeds. i heard the 9500pro is better because it has 8 pipes but the 9600xt has better clock here is my system specs: AMD XP 2500+ 1.

which one should i keep, which one should i sell?
i decided to run my hardware at stock speeds, i have heat issues.
both cards are BBA
now which one is better at stock speeds.

9500 Pro would be slightly faster i think, if you overclock it a bit it will be even faster.
The only sure fire way is to test them however... since they use identical drivers, just swap them out and run some benchmark like 3D Mark 2k3 or 2001SE or Aquamark.

okay guys i did a 3dmark 2001se test
using these settings:
1280*1024*32bit 6xAA triple buffer texture format z-buffer 24
D3D Pure Hardware T&L
9500pro-4984
9600XT-3679
ALL TESTS WHERE DONE 5 TIMES
with windows xp sp1 + latest patches
cats 4.5
stock speed on all my hardware
using beta 1011 bios for my motherboard
nvidia drivers 4.24
defrag was also done before each test
using these settings:
