Iam having trouble booting off the whistler disk. Ive tried the explicit instructions at http://www.angelfire.com/de2/w2kcd/ and configured my bios to boot off the cd but to avail. I don't know what Im doing wrong because I've booted off my win2k cd before. Iam looking to do a fresh install of whistler and the only way is to boot off it during computer startup. Anyone been successful at doing a fresh install(whistler 2287) or know solution please help me out. Person that comes up with a solution, i will help them out at getting 2287!

1) perhaps you should read release notes for these things, it states that you can no longer use win2k cd stuff to boot whistler.
2) Beta 1 is already out, so why would people want 2287, when they could find 2296 somewhere.
3) .........I don't know why i'm saying this. But ain't he posting the same w4r3z stuff that I was by saying "i will help them out at gettting 2287"....I mean, if I get edited out, so should he. Christ, what a justice system...

the instructions worked fine for me, just keep the CD marker files that came with whistler there. Everything else is the same. I just made my 2287 CD the other day and it worked fine.

OP

alamos, you've been here long enough to know that jdulmage takes pride in being a jackass. B-U-T, he's OUR jackass. So hands off, he's taken.
And jdulmage, are we off our meds again?

I told you I ain't taking them meds anymore..
modifying your cd to make it bootable (perhaps you had a non bootable version from MS) is not illegal or *****. it is using perfectly legal files, etc.
like thx said, keep the info files for whistler, instead of using the win2k ones. I was able to make a copy of my beta1 cd bootable using those instructions.
