Whistler problem with Matrox G450= no 3d acceleration
This is a discussion about Whistler problem with Matrox G450= no 3d acceleration in the Windows Hardware category; Tried latest win2k drivers but no luck. This is Whistler pro build 2296. any ideas? I know it is still beta but would like to get it working Celeron II 566@875 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1. 01, 128 Pc100, Matrox G450 32 DH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, Win98FE.

i'll basically sum this up..
It's not on the beta compatibility list, therefore, it doesn't work 100 %.

Hmm, try replacing ddraw.dll witht he dx7 version.

Well I know that the g450 works perfect in win2k with dx8 final. so why not with the dx8 final in whistler. I assume they are the same

Hmmmm, check the agp440.sys file out. See if it's the same as the one in NT5.
the merge is confusing the operating system. I have ran some programs that said "This program is not NT compatible" and then others have said "This program requires Windows NT"...
So I think that in the middle of this merge, it's confusing a few things here and there. But now you know what a beta really is.
