I'm trying to get WWTBAM to run on my NT4 Laptop so I can run the game at remote locations when "on the road" working. Unfortunately even after several different installs/uninstalls/shutdowns I still get the same warning message "The procedure entry point DirectDrawCreateEx could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll" and the game will not start. It does work fine on my home computer (W98). Any ideas how I can fool the laptop or are there workarounds?

I just realised, doesnt NT4 only support up to directx 3 ?

Millionare probably requires DX 7 to run correctly as its quite new:(

Thanks. If that is the case, and I think I can recall seeing something about this before, presumably, interpreting the term "only support", it means that even if I try to load DX7 NT4 will still not run the programme??

There is no DX7 for NT4. I do not have the game so I am not sure if it uses D3D or not. Considering how new it is it probably does. If not then Connectix Virtual PC or Vmware with DX7/DX8 installed on a Windows 2000 guest MIGHT enable it to work but it's HIGHLY doubtful.

I'd just stick 2000 on your laptop and it should work fin.

Wish I could change OS but I'm stuck with NT4 for corporate reasons - therein lies the dilemma!
