why doesnt the sims work on windows 2000?

i installed the game and just when it began. . the screen turns blue and says an error has occured(Asp4wave). What do i do? I desperately need help!!!!.

Hard disk restarting itself at 5:43pm and 5:43am..wierd

Q3 point release 1.25 broke demos!
