Win 2k crashes whenever I try to load a program
This is a discussion about Win 2k crashes whenever I try to load a program in the Everything New Technology category; I'm running 320 ram with Win 2k pro and had zero problems until my mobo died. At that point I brought it to the builder and he replaced my ancient P2 with an AMD Athalon and board from a computer of a friend who went into gaming and sought out horsepower.
I'm running 320 ram with Win 2k pro and had zero problems until my mobo died. At that point I brought it to the builder and he replaced my ancient P2 with an AMD Athalon and board from a computer of a friend who went into gaming and sought out horsepower. Everything works well but I cannot open an exe or any software without the computer crashing and rebooting. This computer needs to work well until I finish the heavy-duty computer I'm building. Can anyone suggest a cure? I intend to use 2000 Pro for my new machine in it's nice Wavemaster case! P.

Did you try a fresh install of win2k?
Try a stability test program like memtest or prime95.
