Win XP failure
So, obviously I'm new to this website, but I was hoping for (quite) a bit of help. I'm running (or rather, was) WIN XP on my Dell Dimension C521, and I do not want to upgrade. (Even though Vista installation fails anyway) My problem is this: everything is failing.
So, obviously I'm new to this website, but I was hoping for (quite) a bit of help.
I'm running (or rather, was) WIN XP on my Dell Dimension C521, and I do not want to upgrade. (Even though Vista installation fails anyway) My problem is this: everything is failing. The boot manager, the system 32. I have tried multiple fixes for this, but to no avail.
I have tried: Re-installing, Repairing, Deleting and Fixing the MBR. I've used the Repair Console to try most of these and still no luck.
FIXMBR
FIXBOOT
DEL BOOT.INI
BOOTCFG /REBUILD
CHKDSK /R
etc.
Though, not in that specific order. I have had this computer running for a while, and then the boot manager
quit on me. I repaired it once, but the problem returned when I tried to access safe mode (not necessarily the cause, of course) Is there anyone with sufficient experience with the XP OS that might have the time to help me? I would be so grateful to anyone who could help. Thanks -Seth
