This is a discussion about Win2000 server, XP pro and win98se clients LAN in the Windows Networking category; Does anyone know where I could find a good article with steps on how to setup a Win2000 server (not advanced), DNS, DHCP, AD to work with about 25 XP Pro machines and 40 win98 machines. I would like the XP machines to be "profileless" ie. same desktop for all users.

All the network is for is to share printing, share some files and share an internet connection for about 200 users in a High School setting.

Thanks

Sounds like you need Active Directory installed (or joined to an existing Domain (if there is one), then you can use Group Policy to apply standard desktop settings for the classroom!

Help features on Windows and Microsoft's Knowledge Base websites are a good starting place.
